Thai Trade Balance Due On Thursday

– Thailand is scheduled to release a raft of data on Thursday, setting the pace for a busy day in Asian economic news. On tap are May figures for imports, exports, trade balance and current account.

Imports are expected to surge 34.8 percent on year following the 26.3 percent jump in April. Exports are tipped to rise an annual 18.0 percent after collecting 24.7 percent in the previous month. The trade balance is expected to reflect a surplus of $334 million after posting a $500 million shortfall a month earlier. The current account is tipped to show a surplus of $450 million following the $165 million deficit in April.

Taiwan’s central bank will conclude its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates.
