First Utility announces energy price rise
First Utility customers on the isave v1 and isave v2 dual fuel tariffs will be affected by the increase.
The energy supplier indicated that the price rise has been caused by increases in the gas and electricity markets.
The isave v1 is due to rise from £965 to £1,136, marking a 17.7% increase, while the isave v2 will escalate from £921 to £1,136.
Chief Executive Officer of First Utility Mark Daeche said: “Last year Ofgem agreed to increase the charges that the gas and electricity distribution and transmission companies charge all energy suppliers.
“The increase in these charges came into effect on April 1st 2010.”
Consumer Focus recently identified that new energy annual statements could prove confusing to some homeowners.
